Lakeview Secondary School Kicks Off 2026–2027 with Purpose: Align, Act, Achieve
Lakeview Secondary School welcomed staff back for the 2026–2027 school year with an engaging opening presentation centered on the school's theme, “Align, Act, Achieve.” The session provided an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the previous year while establishing a clear vision for continued growth, student achievement, and a strong school culture.
Throughout the presentation, staff reflected on Lakeview's successes during the 2025–2026 school year, including student graduations, credits earned through summer learning opportunities, academic growth, career and workforce development opportunities, grant awards, and schoolwide recognitions. These celebrations served as a reminder of what can be accomplished when staff members work collectively to meet the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
The presentation also focused on Lakeview's priorities for the new school year. Staff explored the school's approach to MTSS, explicit instruction, student engagement, intervention, relationship building, safety, and consistent expectations across classrooms. A major emphasis was placed on creating learning environments where students know that they are seen, valued, supported, and capable of success.
A highlight of the event was welcoming Dr. Artaveous Armstrong as Lakeview's guest speaker. Dr. Armstrong's participation added another voice of encouragement and inspiration to the day, reinforcing the importance of educators understanding the impact they can have on the lives of young people. His presence helped make the kickoff more than simply a review of procedures and expectations—it was an opportunity to reconnect staff with the larger purpose behind the work.
As an alternative school, Lakeview recognizes that its students often arrive with unique experiences, needs, and challenges. The school's work therefore requires flexibility, strong relationships, individualized support, high expectations, and a commitment to providing students with opportunities to reset and succeed.
The message heading into 2026–2027 is clear: when we align our efforts, act with purpose, and remain focused on student success, our students can achieve.
Align. Act. Achieve.
Lakeview Secondary School is ready for 2026–2027.
